Train-the-Trainers
NYAGI Expert Trainers help train regional Master Trainers to teach local healthcare providers basic prenatal ultrasound in remote, underserved areas where healthcare access is most limited.
Somaliland
NYAGI works with Edna Adan Hospital in Hargeisa, the capital of Somaliland. We partner with Edna Adan Ismail and a team of physicians and midwives.
After learning our Triage OUT program, they now pass the knowledge on to providers at surrounding rural clinics.
The goal of Triage OUT is to identify potentially complicated pregnancies that may require hospital monitoring or specialty care.
Nepal
NYAGI collaborated with One Heart Worldwide to host in-person, accelerated training sessions in Triage OUT prenatal ultrasound for Skilled Birth Attendants working in remote areas of Nepal.
About 10-20 mothers per month are referred out of the rural mountains for evaluation and specialty care based on ultrasound findings. We consider those as lives saved by portable ultrasound.
Haiti
After the COVID-19 pandemic, we learned to harness the power of technology and now live-teach Triage OUT skills to Haitian providers remotely. In fact, we sometimes teach ultrasound skills to 6 different countries simultaneously.
NYAGI aims to teach 21 Haitian rural clinics Triage OUT ultrasound skills to appropriately refer patients in rural communities to regional, more specialized healthcare centers.
The goal is to educate, empower, and elevate Haiti’s healthcare system via portable diagnostic ultrasound skills training.
Tanzania
NYAGI is working with the Tanzanian Midwives Association (TAMA) and AFYA Connect to teach local healthcare providers how to use ultrasound for prenatal and point-of-care emergency ultrasound screenings.
Both online and offline NYAGI learning resources are available to pass the Triage OUT knowledge forward.
