Our Vision
All pregnant women should have access to life-saving ultrasound diagnostics.
Our Mission
NYAGI Project empowers local healthcare workers in resource-poor areas to triage life-threatening pregnancy conditions through accelerated, low-cost ultrasound skills training.
Every two minutes…
Every two minutes, a woman somewhere dies of pregnancy complications. By far most of these deaths occur in isolated, majority world communities—and most are easily avoidable. NYAGI exists to assure that every expecting mother in the world has quick, affordable, and effective access to basic prenatal ultrasound.
NYAGI brings together healthcare providers, cause-driven organizations, and technology companies to provide scalable remote, live, and in-person training in basic prenatal ultrasound in low-income, majority world countries. Success equips healthcare providers in these regions where healthcare services are most limited with the basic ultrasound skills necessary to triage pregnancies.
NYAGI has developed Triage OUT, an innovative and effective remote training program for basic prenatal ultrasound built around a scalable hub-and-spoke model. NYAGI’s Expert Trainers train regional Master Trainers who are certified and supported in training local rural healthcare providers. The NYAGI approach combines:
Specially designed asynchronous, self-paced online learning
Supplemental live interactive webinars
Expert-guided just-in-time xNAV reference software from 7D Imaging
In-person validation and certification of Master Trainers
The Butterfly portable point-of-care ultrasound system

Supporting Rural Healthcare
Instead of flying in for one-off expert assistance, NYAGI Project supports enduring and scalable solutions by combining its Train-the-Trainer program with remote back-up support.
Accelerated learning protocols focus on identifying select life-threatening complications. Successful completion of the training does not require advanced prior medical qualifications and is possible for midwives and birth attendants.
By enabling trainees to teach others, this approach multiplies the number of healthcare workers skilled in basic ultrasound diagnostics, increasing access for women in need. Other major advantages are that NYAGI Project’s skills development system is fast, effective and low-cost.
