Alex Halpern, JD

Alex has practiced law in Colorado since graduating from the University of Denver College of Law in 1976. In his wide-ranging career he has assisted peace and social action organizations, healthcare organizations, public schools and educational charities, small businesses, and individuals throughout the country. Alex represents nonprofit, charitable organizations in the initial stages of incorporation and obtaining federal income tax exempt status and in their on-going activities. He also serves as counsel to the United States organizations of many of today’s most prominent Buddhist teachers. He provides specialized knowledge in foreign and domestic grant making, soliciting and receiving donations of cash and property, obtaining tax-exempt status, compensation agreements, and financial reporting compliance. In addition, he offers legal assistance in corporate law, real estate acquisitions, intellectual property, banking and financial transactions, publishing and speaking contracts, insurance, and general business transactions.
